Typical skiills will include teamwork, communication, following instructions and initiative. Knowledge of the industry is likely to be obtained as students observe the tasks involved with creating and/or restoring metal house roofs.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Tasks may include helping lift and carry roofing materials, passing tools to tradies and apprentices that are working on the roof of a building, packing up tools and equipment and observing the skills involved in this trade.

Student Requirements

Students need to have an interest in the plumbing trade. They need to be willing to work outdoors in harsh weather conditions that could include hot summer days or cold and windy winter days.

Dress Requirements

Students need suitable tradie clothing that will provide sun protection in hot conditions and be warm enough for outdoor work in winter. Robust footwear and a hat are essential.

Transport arrangements need to be discussed with the employer prior to commencing.
