Construction & Building Design (previously Comley Building Designs) has been providing building design services to its clients for over 40 years. They provide design services in both the residential and commercial sectors. They are experienced in designing both high-end and economy projects and have in-house expertise available to develop solutions to any construction issues the project may entail.
Students will gain hands-on experience across all aspects of the business. This placement will provide you with a range of opportunities to develop your skills while working alongside experienced industry tradespeople.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Students will have the opportunity to spend time with experienced professional staff, assisting in the following task and duties under supervision:
Learn about building codes and regulations.
Project management
Assist with site visits.
Research building materials and technologies.
Manage project documents.
Participate in client meetings.
Help with administrative tasks.
Learn project estimation.
Explore green building practices.

Student Requirements

- Commitment to set hours per week.
- Basic computer skills, communication abilities, and safety awareness.
- Genuine enthusiasm for learning about building construction and design
- Ability to work well in a team and follow directions.
- Reliable, punctual, and professional demeanor.
