Watkins Electrical Services and Maintenance has a SBAT opportunity available for a student who is motivated and enthusiastic about the electrical trade profession. Owner/Operator, Bailey has established a professional electrical service business and his team are supportive and students will be given worthwhile experiences in the various aspects of residential, commercial and industrial electrical maintenance and services. Typical Tasks & Duties
Students will assist trained staff in performing duties,
Students may assist or observe trained staff with the following activities:
- Tidying work site areas and observing basic electrical procedures while under supervision.
- Work as a productive team member and follow instructions from qualified employees to assist them in their roles.
- Assist qualified employees with laying cables, trenching and helping to collect and pack away tools and equipment.
Student Requirements
Students are encouraged to consider a SBAT to further their studies in Electrotechnology.
The following requirements must be met;
- Students are required to have completed the Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) modules- General module and any applicable industry OH&S modules, including obtaining a Construction Induction (White Card).
- Students must adhere to strict Privacy and Confidentiality policy and procedures.
- Students must have a willingness to learn and be able to follow instructions carefully and competently.
- Students must be willing to communicate clearly and work as a productive team member.
- Personal mobile phones are not required and should only be used out of work hours or on offsite meal breaks.
Dress Requirements
Please discuss all dress requirements with the employer at the interview. Students will need to wear long pants and a long sleeved shirt, and protective work boots. Wet weather gear will be needed in wetter months. A hat and sunscreen are essential for working outdoors. Appropriate PPE must be worn in accordance with Workplace Health and Safety policy and procedure.
