Opportunity is for a VET students doing Allied Health VET Cert III.
Lyndoch Living offers a very large home (198 beds) which includes the following
Specialist services: Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapy, Podiatry, Social Work, Speech Pathology, Dietitian
Residential aged care Respite care Secure dementia care Palliative care Non-dedicated respite care. This is a quality opportunity for a student who has a genuine interest and is doing the appropriate studies to support a placement at Lyndoch.
Skills You Might Learn
The student will gain skills working with a team of Allied health professional, have an understanding of programs and strategies that are implement to enhance the lives of people in care.
Typical Tasks & Duties
The student will work with Allied health team leaders across the range of services offered at Lyndoch. This will include assisting staff in the community rehabilitation centre and life style centre. The student may assist with the delivery of activities to enhance the physical, social,emotional and intellectual development of those in their care.
Student Requirements
Personal requirements for the students include patience,understanding,and a supportive caring manner. Students should have a understanding and a commitment to the rights of the elderly and people in care, be able to take responsibility and have good communication skills. Students should be able to cope with the physical demands of the job.
Dress Requirements
Student will need to wear school polo top with emblem on it plus neat black pants and covered shoes. Jewelry is not permitted when working with patients so we would request student do not wear any .
Special Transport Requirements
Students to make own way to placement.
