With many years of experience supporting students, this employer provides opportunities to gain hands-on experience in many aspects of the building industry including sourcing logs, sawmilling, kilning, milling and flattening timber slabs that customers will turn into dining tables. You will be supervised by skilled tradesmen and included as part of the team.

Typical Tasks & Duties
Provide assistance to qualified trades people. General set up and clean up of work sites. Work site preparation, can include digging and lifting. Sourcing logs, sawmilling, kilning, milling and flattening timber slabs that customers will turn into dining tables. Handling of building materials, as well as some heavy lifting.
Student Requirements
You must have a strong interest in the trade, and a strong desire to work in this field. Maintain interest and participate in work duties. You are required to be punctual, well mannered and behave in a respectful and responsible manner. An OH&S safety “White Card” is required before commencing work within the team. Please check with employer regarding any COVID safe practices and immunisation requirements before starting placement.
Dress Requirements
Work boots required.
Work pants required.
Special Transport Requirements
***Students must be available to travel to the work location at 8 a.m. and committed to working full workdays.
