A great opportunity has been offered in the Community Services: Aged Care Industry as an Assistant Lifestyle Coach at Princes Court Homes, a leading Aged Care provider in the region.

Princes Court Homes has continued to develop its facility and care provision for residents and today we are home to 98 permanent and two respite residents who reside here and who are supported by more than 100 staff.

Skills You Might Learn

Students will gain an understanding of and develop the basic skills related to working in the
Aged Care Industry -

Students will learn to work in a team, communicate effectively in the workplace, be punctual at all times, present at work in appropriate work attire, follow instructions, complete work with a attention to detail and adhere to OH&S requirements at the work place.

Typical Tasks & Duties

The student will observe and spend time under the direct supervision of experienced and qualified Princes Court staff assisting with general tasks and duties relating to lifestyle and activity programs.

Tasks and duties may include assisting to prepare for daily activities, participating in activities as instructed, safely manual handle and use materials at the work area, clean and maintain the work area as instructed and apply OH&S requirements for the Aged Care Industry -

Student Requirements

Whilst the student is attending the work experience placement they are expected to:
• Show a genuine interest in the Aged Care Industry – Lifestyle Assistant.
• Carry a Food Handlers Certificate, please note: obtaining the Food Handlers Certificate is required prior to attending the work experience placement.
• Hold a National Police Check.
• Be neat in appearance, maintain a high level of personal hygiene, willing to observe, listen and learn while working in our team.

Dress Requirements

The student will need to be well presented as Aged Care Industry - Assistants work in full view of customers.
• Flat, non-slip, enclosed work shoes.
• Neat casual dress appropriate for the workplace, (long black pants and shirt).
• Long hair must be tied back, nails must be kept short and clean.
• No inappropriate or offensive slogans
• No Jewellery

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriate to the tasks and duties carried out by the student, will be supplied by the Host Employer.

Special Transport Requirements

Student to arrange own transport to and from work.
