Skills You Might Learn
Improve your communication skills through supporting volunteers and staff in a variety of programs and activities, helping participants settle in to activities and assist in practical ways. Hands on experience in answering calls, greeting clients, some administrative tasks such as data collection and organising information.
Typical Tasks & Duties
Depending on interest and the day you attend placement, you will be involved in all aspects of running activities to support the local community. You will assist the coordinator in managing various activities from taking bookings, making phone calls, greeting participants, setting up classes and assisting participants during workshops. There is also scope for using your creativity and ideas to suggest new activity and program ideas or to input to promotional material.
Student Requirements
Must be willing to engage socially with good people skills, relate well to various age groups, be creative, motivated and willing to learn. CCH is a not-for-profit so no payment will be provided.
Dress Requirements
Neat casual.
Special Transport Requirements
Bus to Cockatoo, 15 minutes walk from town centre. Discuss possible transport arrangements with options with employer.
