Skills You Might Learn
You will improve your communication skills through supporting volunteers and staff in a variety of programs and activities, helping participants settle in to activities and assist in practical ways. You will gain hands on experience in setting up for activities, greeting clients, communicating, interacting and supporting participants.
Typical Tasks & Duties
Typical tasks and duties may include assisting with the setting up and packing up activities organised for the day. Supporting office staff with administration duties, which may include helping people with bookings, supporting participants/groups in classes.
Student Requirements
Working in a Neighbourhood house, you will need to be respectful and friendly, able to communicate with a range of participants, work as part of a team and keep information confidential.
You will be required to be adaptable, be able to assist where required, have a friendly personality.
