Holistic Futures

Holistic Futues is registered with the NDIS to provide people with a disability support in everyday life to achieve their goals. This includes one on one support by their support workers and group based activates too. Support is provided in a person’s home, community and a centre. Their vision is for people to be seen for their strengths and abilities not their disability. Their mission is to break down barriers and empower people to achieve their goals.
You will be working in a small team of dedicated staff who take pride in their work and live and breath the company's values and mission. Staff understand how hard it is to develop a special bond with a person that needs support and go over and beyond their duty to ensure this happens.

Skills You Might Learn

You will learn a wide variety of tasks including, providing support to a person with a disability, problem solving, writing a case note, NDIS language and community engagement.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Tasks may involve learning all aspects of the business and could include supporting people with disability. Completing and assisting in tasks such as cooking, art, computers etc.
Finding alternative ways to ensure the person you are supporting can communicate and can understand the task that needs to be performed. Ensuring a good outcome is achieved at the end of the session.

Student Requirements

Students should have a good understanding of disability and diversity, have an interest in cooking, art, community participation, movies and sports. Have the willingness to learn, have the ability to problem solve and ask questions when needed, able to report an incident when necessary, be enthusiastic, polite and punctual and be able to follow instructions.

Dress Requirements

Neat and tidy appearance. Neat casual clothing.
