This industry leading nursery and its expert staff grow over 50000 advanced landscape trees in a wide range of sizes and varieties. Trees including Native, Evergreen, Deciduous, Ornamental and Fruit trees for local government, nurseries and commercial landscapers. This is an exciting SWL opportunity ideally suited to students who are undertaking a Certificate in Horticulture to learn from well established experts in the horticultural industry.

Skills You Might Learn

Students will gain valuable experience in the industry which may include improved recognition and identification of different plant genus and species types, determination of different types of soil/growing media. Students will participate in OHS processes and environmentally sustainable work practices.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Students tasks may include potting up, propagation, plant maintenance of potted stock including pruning weeding and general care. Detailing of plants for dispatch to customers including labeling and presentation for market.

Student Requirements

Employer prefers applications from local students that live within half an hour travel radius. See also Dress Requirements for further information.

Dress Requirements

Students should ensure they wear steel capped boots and neat casual work wear.

Special Transport Requirements

Limited public transport is available Bus 695 stops nearby but it still a walk from here to the nursery, this location is best reached by car.
