Are you interested in community services and/or IT? They offer social and education programs to engage local families, aged and disability participants . Their aim is to provide support, education and information services that promote individual and community health and well being, offering an environment that is welcoming, supportive, respectful and friendly.
Skills You Might Learn
You will improve your communication skills through supporting volunteers and staff in a variety of programs and activities, helping participants settle in to activities and assist in practical ways. You will gain hands on experience in setting up for activities, greeting clients, communicating, interacting and supporting participants.
Typical Tasks & Duties
Assisting with the activities organised for the day, such as computer classses, craft, mosaics, literacy and numeracy, English, social and support groups and more! You will have the opportunity to be creative and introduce your own brief interactive activity.
You will be required to be supportive, respectful and friendly, able to communicate with a range of participants, including older adults and adults with disabilities. there may be some outdoor activities to be involved with so please ensure Travel forms are arranged
Special Transport Requirements
This employer is not easily accessible by public transport. Train to Pakenham and bus may be the best option if own transport is unavailable.
