Skills You Might Learn
Industry specific skills may include measurement and calculations, storing and handling assorted materials, using a variety of tools and equipment to meet specific task requirements. Transferrable skills include communication, time management, following instruction, using technology, problem solving, demonstrating initiative, etc.
Typical Tasks & Duties
Successful applicants will start off with the basics, gaining a solid understanding of Workplace Health and Safety, Risk Management, Equipment Maintenance, etc. As their skills and competencies develop, they will be given the opportunity to participate in more complex tasks, with greater responsibility. These tasks will vary depending on the workplace activities at the time.
Student Requirements
Student Requirements This is a “physical” role, so a level of coordination and dexterity is vital. Best suited to students currently undertaking relevant Construction VET studies.
Dress Requirements
Work boots, long pants and long sleeved tops of sturdy material, suitable for a construction site. High Vis gear and other PPE will be provided by employer in need. To be discussed further at interview.
