Students will be able to work in a highly supportive environment, observing a number of technicians service a wide range of vehicles.This is an excellent opportunity for the student to gain valuable automotive practical industry experience and enhance their skills.

Skills You Might Learn

Basic diagnostic skills will be developed, identification of tools, computer software will also be used with basic diagnostic tasks. Students will also learn a number of employability skills including presentation, working as part of a team, communication skills, customer service and after care follow up.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Assist as required general upkeep of work stations including some cleaning. Undertake basic mechanical, electrical auto service and repair tasks (under supervision). The student will also have the opportunity to learn workplace communication, safe work practices and how to cooperative effectively in a workplace team.

Student Requirements

They need to show enthusiasm and an interest to learn new skills. They need to be focused and able to listen to instructions and follow through with instructions to complete a task. The student needs to be punctual and possess a good work ethic. Personal use of mobile phones in work time will not be tolerated.

Dress Requirements

Neat tidy dress is required to be well presented for the customers but the mechanical work shop is a dirty environment and clothes will be affected. safety boots must be worn.
