ESC Electrical and Data are excited to offer an opportunity for a young person to come join their team to learn about the electrical trade. Apprenticeship opportunities exist and the business is very supportive of students undertaking their studies and doing their SWL placements and will offer a valuable opportunity for students to gain a range of skills and experience.

Skills You Might Learn

Students will, whilst under supervision, be learning the use of hand tools related to electrical work. The position will include activities around assisting the electrical trades workers, cabling, changing globes, and developing their knowledge of site cleanliness, OHS and tools to be used.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Students will have the opportunity to attain a broad range of skills while on work placement. These will include valuable general employability skills such as: communication, teamwork, problem solving, planning and organising, hands-on practical experience, observing and learning from industry qualified and experienced professionals, working in real-life scenarios and environments, working with tools and equipment necessary to the occupation and business, liaising with colleagues, bosses, customers/clients and suppliers.

Student Requirements

This may lead to an apprenticeship opportunity, it is a Term 4 placement. The employer ideally requires someone who has their license, vehicle and experience (through previous placements).
Students must have industry White Card and will be required to work the hours as outlined. Any interested student needs to be punctual, hard working, able to listen and take direction, be capable of showing initiative and able to get along with people.

Dress Requirements

Steel toe cap boots, general work clothing including fluro top/s.

Special Transport Requirements

The student ideally will have their license and vehicle.
