This is a well established surveying business, predominately offering services around subdivisions, construction set out, site analysis and easements. Students will benefit from the welcoming environment as management is enthusiastic about the SWL program and provide meaningful learning scenarios for keen participants. Approximately 80% of students time will be spent out on site. This is a terrific chance for an enthusiastic student to learn more about a profession where there is a serious skills shortage.

Skills You Might Learn

The student will have the opportunity to experience the following; using surveying equipment to assist in a job, assist employees as they perform surveying tasks and strengthening their workplace communication skills.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Students in the position will assist workers in a range of tasks to complete surveying tasks. These tasks may be in the office with CAD or outdoors with surveying field work. The student will be required to be an active participant in all work place practices.

Student Requirements

The students must have completed the OH&S module in WRS VCAL or else have begun the OH&S module in the relevant VET course.

Dress Requirements

Students are to wear neat casual dress appropriate for the work place plus sturdy work boots.

Special Transport Requirements

Students will need to organise their own transport to work as there is no public transport.
