This is an excellent opportunity to complete a Structured Workplace Learning placement by working closely with health professionals in an aged care setting. This opportunity is ideally suited to Allied Health students.

Skills You Might Learn

Students will extend their knowledge of the health industry, gain a greater understanding of the various roles and professions within an aged care facility, learn about Occupational Health and Safety protocols and apply their training in a practical setting.

Typical Tasks & Duties

During this placement students will accompany and observe health professionals (including a physiotherapist); work with Aged Care residents; take part in lifestyle activities; assist within an Allied Health program; interpret medical terminology; comply with infection control policies.

Student Requirements

Some industries requires students to have a 'Volunteer Police Check' before beginning placement. This employer requires students to have this done prior to commencement. (Ask your Careers teacher or parent/guardian about this). Punctuality is important. See Dress Requirements for further information.

Dress Requirements

Neat casual. Students to wear closed-toe shoes. School uniform can be worn.

Special Transport Requirements

This location is best reached by bus or car.
