Taking placements for 2018! A wonderful opportunity to gain hospitality skills at award winning "Ambrosia" cafe, bar and foodstore. Ambosia has received the consumer vote award of 2012 Savour Australia Restaurant & Catering HOSTPLUS Awards for Excellence. Ambrosia is one of the restaurants in Berwick Victoria that reflect the rich use of regional produce of the Gippsland area making this an ideal place to put your hospitality skills into practice. Ambrosia serve breakfast, lunch and dinner and cater for corporate gatherings and functions.

Skills You Might Learn

Students will be able to build on their skills and knowledge from their VETiS Hospitality program. Skills will be developed in food preparation, cooking, customer service, food hygiene and catering / kitchen operations. Students will gain transferable general employ-ability skills.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Students will be involved in various facets of kitchen operations, food preparation including peeling, cutting, weighing, measuring, cleaning. To be successfully considered for this position a student must have a keen interest in hospitality, have a neat appearance and work as part of a team.

Student Requirements

Students must be willing to learn and take on various tasks as directed by the supervisor and have a keen interest in the hospitality industry. Students need to be well presented with a neat appearance, be punctual and be prepared to work well in a small kitchen team.

Dress Requirements

For kitchen hand/back of house - non slip, enclosed shoes, neat clothing, black shirt and pants, hair net or hat, no jewellery.

Special Transport Requirements

Students must provide own transport to the work site.
