This Trafalgar based opportunity is for a student to gain experience in gardening, landscaping and general horticulture assisting with the maintenance and upkeep of council property across the Baw Baw Shire area. The successful student will gain a vast range of experience and have the unique opportunity to work within a supportive team tasked with the upkeep and maintenance of Council's many parks and gardens.

Skills You Might Learn

Experience in horticulture tasks, plant identification, workplace expectations, team work, maintaining work records as required.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Students will work will the Parks & Gardens Trafalgar crew caring for municipal parks and gardens. This will require a variety of hands on activities maintaining gardens with the shire. Tasks will include: planting; mulching; weeding; pruning; watering; fertilizing; digging & mowing

Student Requirements

Students are required to be punctual and timely, students will be required to work regardless of seasonal conditions

Dress Requirements

Safety boots, clean and tidy clothing and hat.

Special Transport Requirements

Must be able to organise own transport to and from depot
