Are you a VET Community Services student looking to have some serious FUN on your placement? Then this position may just be for you!
Come and do your work placement on school holidays and help out/join in some great activities- bowling, swimming, movies at the cinema and more..

Skills You Might Learn

Students may have the opportunity to develop skills relating to the supervision of people with a disability. Students will also receive insight and knowledge relating to policies and procedures. During this placement, students will gain experience of working within a team and working with people of all different abilities and backgrounds.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Assist Disability Support Workers to supervise and interact with the participants attending the School Holiday Program. The program is split into two age groups, 6 – 12 years and 12 – 18 years. During this program the expectation is that the Disability Support Workers and students completing placement take part in the activity and join in with the children.

Student Requirements

This position is for a VET Community Services student. Students must have a keen interest to work within the industry and a willingness to learn. Students must be willing to follow instructions and work within a team. They must have the ability to interact with clients, have a supportive and caring attitude, good people skills and be accommodating to different personalities and abilities.
Students 18 or over will need to apply for a volunteer Working with Children and Police Check.

Dress Requirements

Dress requirements during placements are smart casual and practical, suitable and safe for the particular work environment. Discreet jewellery, long hair tied back, closed toe shoes. No thongs or singlets.

Special Transport Requirements

Students will need to find their own transport.
