It is core to the organisation’s success and engagement with the community. This is a brilliant opportunity for an aboriginal student to be part of the administration team within the Human Resources(HR) department of the Council. The purpose of the Aboriginal Inclusion Charter is to continue the process of reconciliation between Council and Aboriginal people living, working or visiting the City of Whittlesea.
The Charter affirms any rights Aboriginal people hold within the Victorian Charter of Human Rights and Responsibilities Act 2006 and stipulates our commitment in putting these rights into practice.
Skills You Might Learn
You will come away from this exciting placement with improved interpersonal skills. You will understand the importance of working in a team. You will learn how to use various computer programs, such as excel, word and power point and other office information systems.
Typical Tasks & Duties
You will have many and varied tasks working in the HR department, from simple filing to extensive data input. You will be given further responsibility of database management. You will be using computers and scanners to update council information and data as per council systems of HR management.
As part of the council's Aboriginal inclusion charter they are seeking an aboriginal student to fill this placement. You must have a basic understanding of office information systems and computer operation.
