This is a fantastic opportunity for a student with keen interest in gardening, plants and horticulture to undertake a school-based apprenticeship. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain a vast range of experience and gain a nationally recognised qualification. This employer has a history of employing school-based trainees and apprentices providing a variety of tasks and taking a real interest in your training.

Skills You Might Learn

During your placement you will gain a vast range of skills including:
- An introduction to gardening and horticulture
- Knowledge of the industry and plants
- Hands on practical experience
- Teamwork and communication
- Manual handling practices
- Employability skills

Typical Tasks & Duties

Students will gain a vast variety of exposure to the horticulture industry. Your tasks and duties may include, but will not be limited too:
- Gardening and maintenance
- Plant production
- Propagation
- Garden establishment
- Retail display

Student Requirements

It is crucial that students demonstrate a keen interest in gardening, plants and horticulture. Student will be required to work a minimum of 1 day during the week and some weekend work may be available

Dress Requirements

Students must wear gardening attire

Special Transport Requirements

Blackwood Ridge is not accessible by public transport
